Four Seasons at Anahita

A 45 minute drive across stunning landscapes and sugar cane plantations, through the Anahita sanctuary’s beautifully maintained flower gardens, brings you to the Four Seasons, an all-villa resort in contemporary Mauritian style, located around a completely private lagoon. This very stylish resort is a blend of marble, wood and glass with open spaces overlooking the water.

Incredible villas, accessed by buggy, are beautifully appointed with warm decor, spacious bathrooms with an indoor and outdoor shower, walk in closets and private terraces furnished with loungers and tables. Champagne and fruit greets your arrival, along with a beautiful beach bag, perfect for a day on the beach. Children get cookies with their names on them!

The Residence accommodation is ideal for families of all sizes, with 2-5 bedrooms, a kitchenette (and grocery list), the option of a gated terrace to enclose the plunge pool and even the option to have bamboo screening for even greater privacy. Villas have large garden areas. Each villa has a motorized mosquito net, with remote access located next to the iPod docking station by your bedside!

The extensive facilities include 3 pools and 3 lagoon beaches, a water sports centre, PADI dive centre, glass bottom boat excursions, water skiing, fitness centre and lap pool, tennis courts and Erni Els-designed championship links golf course where you will be served drinks and canapés as you play! A Culture Centre has a DVD and CD library, novels and cultural literature and board games.

The child-friendly, palm fringed swimming pool is surrounded with wooden loungers and mattresses from which you receive attentive service through the day as you chill to soft music from the Bambou restaurant. The still waters of the lagoon are great for families with children and the fabulous service continues on the lagoon ‘beach’ – staff will rush to help you with your complementary beach bag and to bring you whatever you need during your stay. (Unless, of course, you put up your personal ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign). Other personal touches include delicate canapés and a bookmark in your magazine or novel awaiting your return to the villa.

Last but by no means least, the Spa at Four Seasons is a fusion of African, Indian, Chinese and European cultures and therapies, featuring the highest quality treatments and products. With 12 over water treatment pavilions, you are sure of a luxuriant spa experience from a relaxing massage to the signature ‘Sugar Adventure’ – a deep tissue massage and brown sugar body polish involving rolling sugar can on the body to increase circulation and release tension. Fabulous.

In addition to the Bambou restaurant, close to the beach and pool, the largely open air Beau Champ restaurant overlooks the lagoon and offers an exquisite menu; lobster night is particularly recommended with lobster espresso and gold-leafed deserts. Children will love the restaurants, with drawing and play dough to entertain them while they await their choices from the exhaustive kids menu – they can have pretty much anything they want. In the superior Italian restaurant they can make pizzas with the chef. Regular entertainment including a jazz singer and singer/guitarist enhance your dining experience.

The Family Travel Experience

Special children’s menus and baby food; high chairs; cots, baby baths, sterilisers. Also cotbumpers, mosquito nets, child’s bath seats and 24 hour babysitting. Child friendly family pool. Small children get marshmallows, juice and a personalised drinking glass – and a bucket and spade for the beach.

For the children: The Kids for all Seasons club in the Hobbit Village offers a well-organised programme for children, run by highly enthusiastic and professional staff and divided into 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12 year old activities. These include shell painting, pool games, pizza and cookie making and Sega dancing. It has its own, fenced pool, cinema, playground and bakery! Teens get their own facilities in a Karokan with pool table, ping pong, Wii, Xbox and even DJ decks.
