Located on the east coast of Mauritius, this modern, low-key resort guarantees the ultimate luxury holiday experience. Cool in every sense of the word, the amazing service begins with your own butler to unpack and pack for you, run your bath with your choice of fragrant oils, stuff tissue in your shoes, put chocolate on your pillow and generally be at your service, 24/7.
A wide choice of sea-facing rooms and suites is provided on the resort’s Hibiscus and Coral Wings, and Frangipani Island. Hibiscus Junior Suites are classic and cool with huge bay windows; more contemporary Frangipani Junior Suites feature plasma TVs and egg-shaped baths. Ocean Suites - which can be connected to an adjacent Junior Suite - have a separate lounge and dining room and two secluded terraces leading from the master bedroom; perfect for families with older children. The epitome of luxury service and style, the detached and enormous Royal Suite offers exceptional privacy, with chandeliers, walk-in closets, huge flatscreen TV, inside and outside showers and a Jacuzzi, a spacious terrace overlooking the ocean and every other amenity you could possibly want for while on holiday.
Check-in is in your suite, along with welcome champagne and fruit, a T-shirt for the children (and dad) and a sarong for mum. Your butler will explain all of the facilities and amenities that are available - all you have to do is relax and enjoy yourself.
The recreational facilities at Le Touessrok are exceptional. Loungers and mattresses on the beautiful beach are placed on their own ‘islands’ in the sea; beach service is, of course, wonderful - just raise or lower your ‘flag’ to attract attention. At the barefoot beach restaurant, Paul and Virginie prepare freshly caught fish and seafood, pizzas and a range of salads. Complimentary water sports include canoes, kayaks, laser sailing dinghies, sailing boats, pedal boats, glass-bottom boat trips, snorkelling, unlimited water-skiing and windsurfing. Scuba diving (PADI and CMAS), deep-sea fishing, parasailing, banana and tube rides and catamaran sailing can also be organised.
Golfers have exclusive use of the 18-hole, par-72, Bernard Langer Championship course and Academy, on its own island. A Fitness Centre offers personal training, swimming and aquatic exercise. Four floodlit tennis courts, bocce ball, jogging track (you can even hire a jogging ‘buddy’), volleyball, archery, badminton, yoga and tai-chi are all free to guests.
There are five restaurants: Three-Nine-Eight, the main dining room, comprises a ‘culinary theatre’ of eight show kitchens, each offering a different cuisine including a continental grill, contemporary Asian and Italian corners, an extensive salad bar and a patisserie and bakery. Crusoe’s Restaurant - a favourite with children - is on the resort’s own ‘desert island’, Ilot Mangenie (5 minutes by boat and exclusive to resort guests) and offers, on Sundays, a sublime buffet featuring spit roasted lamb, Asian stir fries and an amazing array of desserts. The relaxed, ocean-front Barlens has burgers, sushi, grills and salads. Safran, conceived by Michelin-starred Atul Kochhar serves sophisticated and modern Indian cuisine.
The Family Travel Experience
